We are expanding our operations and seeking an experienced Senior Fine Wine Buyer & Trade Sales Manager to expand our sourcing network and open new B2B trade opportunities. This is a new role within our growing team, designed to help us operate more efficiently and strategically in the global fine wine market.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated, well-connected individual with proven expertise in fine wine and strong relationships across producers, merchants, distributors, and the wider trade. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing top-quality wines, negotiating with suppliers, and driving B2B trade sales. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on our business by shaping both WineCap’s and Westgarth Wines’ sourcing strategies. As part of the senior leadership team, they will also have the opportunity to build and lead a high-performing trade desk.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for fine and rare wines across key regions.
- Leverage existing relationships and build new partnerships with suppliers, négociants, and trade partners.
- Negotiate purchase terms, pricing, and allocations to maximise commercial opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new global B2B sales channels
- Manage end-to-end buying processes, ensuring wines meet quality and provenance standards.
- Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to align sourcing with market demand.
- Stay informed on global market trends, releases and investment opportunities.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in fine wine buying and trade sales (specialist fine wine merchants preferred).
- A strong network of industry relationships.
- Strong wine education (e.g. WSET Diploma or equivalent professional qualifications).
