Head of Analysis

Head of Analysis

Full-Time No working from home possible
Wine Lister Limited

Working directly with the CEO, the Head of Analysis is a senior, highly autonomous role at the heart of Wine Lister's consulting operation. You will own the full lifecycle of analytical projects - from scoping and methodology through to delivery and client presentation - across a portfolio of concurrent client engagements. This is a role for a self-starter who is equally comfortable building a complex quantitative pricing model and presenting its findings to a château owner, and who thrives under the pressure of managing multiple deadlines independently.

Position: Head of Analysis

Location: Victoria, Central London (office-based, partial remote working negotiable after probation)

Start date: flexible, between July and September 2026

Contract terms: Full-time

Salary: £38k-48k per annum depending on experience

Perks: Social budget, tailored working hours, personal development budget including WSET sponsorship (after probation), frequent fine wine tastings, introduction to the world's top fine wine producers and industry figures, 4.30pm finish on Fridays

Bespoke consulting: own the end-to-end delivery of consulting projects across a portfolio of clients – from initial scoping and research through to analysis, insight generation, and final recommendations

Quantitative analysis & modelling: build and maintain sophisticated analytical frameworks combining pricing data, critic scores, demand signals, and other market benchmarks

Client communication & executive presence: serve as a confident, polished point of contact for senior client stakeholders (winery owners, CEOs etc.). This includes leading client presentations, interpreting and contextualising data-driven recommendations, and communicating complex analysis with clarity and authority

Data sourcing & management: manage current and future data streams (qualitative and quantitative), own relationships with data and technology partners, and carry out proprietary surveys across Wine Lister's extensive network

Business development: identify and develop opportunities with existing and prospective clients through networking, pitches, and proposals, including travel to wine regions and trade fairs. Continuously help grow and refine the scope of Wine Lister's consulting offering

Project management: lead projects end-to-end, ensuring best practices are implemented to specification and on time, across multiple concurrent workstreams, prioritising independently and meeting deadlines

Data & modelling: advanced Excel skills including complex formula construction, regression-based analysis, and large dataset management

Presentation: a strong eye for data visualisation, with the ability to translate complex quantitative analysis into compelling, executive-ready presentations and reports with meaningful charts and infographics

Communication: exceptional written and verbal communication skills; writing with flawless grammar and syntax, and presenting with authority to senior industry figures

Independence & prioritisation: proven ability to manage a varied workload across multiple client deadlines, working autonomously with minimal direction

Languages: native-level English required; fluent French desired; Italian would be an advantage

Analytical spirit: an original thinker with a rigorous, methodical approach to data and a talent for surfacing meaningful insights

Executive presence: confident, professional, and persuasive in client-facing settings, with the credibility to advise senior stakeholders

Self-starter: highly motivated and proactive, with the initiative to drive projects forward independently in a lean, fast-paced environment

Attention to detail: precise and thorough across both quantitative work and written outputs

Academic excellence: top grades through to degree level

Fine wine knowledge: pre-existing knowledge of wine, particularly the fine wines of Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne (also Italy, Spain, California, etc.). WSET Level 3 or higher will be an advantage

Consulting experience: prior experience in consulting, data analysis, or a similarly rigorous analytical environment is preferred

Business acumen: substantive understanding of the fine wine industry and wine businesses – including how wines are produced, positioned, and sold
