It also manufactures timber frame homes and engineered roof trusses for the house building sector. As the company prepares for continued growth and investment, Glennon Brothers is now seeking to appoint an Electrical Supervisor for our Windymains site.
Job Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate management Electrical experience gained within heavy industry. They will also possess an in-depth knowledge of high voltage infrastructure, hydraulics, pneumatics, motor circuits, electricity and electronics including UK legislation knowledge regarding electricity at work.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Acting as a champion for Electrical improvements and promoting best practice for the plant
- Delivering improvements projects to plant; formulating financial plans and executing work
- Applying preventative and predictive maintenance practices and contributing to plant improvements
- Highlighting long term plant risks to senior management, assisting with repair plans
- Ensuring sustainable performance aligned to plant objectives, values and behaviours
- Preparing and managing obsolescence and replacement plans
- Monitoring completion of electrical tasks through spot checks, following up with feedback
- Identifying skills gaps within the electrical team, building plans for development including 1-2-1s and PDPs, supporting longer term retention and succession planning
- Ensuring Electrical Statutory inspections are carried out in line with legislation, and follow on work created from these inspections has been completed
- Conducting weekly safety briefings, whilst actively participating in near hit reporting & safety online actions
Essential Skills and Experience
- 18th Edition
- Experience of Atex and DSEAR experience
- Degree or equivalent or HNC
- Must understand engineering and business principles
- NEBOSH or IOSH preferable
- Financial management and budget control
- Management/supervisory experience of an electrical team
- Sometimes a hands-on approach would be required
- PLC systems Knowledge and Experience
- Computer Maintenance Management system experience
