Windward is the maritime intelligence layer the world's most consequential decisions run on. Banks, energy majors, commodity traders, shipowners, and government agencies use our AI platform to understand what's actually happening at sea - vessel behaviour, dark activity, AIS manipulation, cargo risk - before it becomes a problem. We don't just aggregate maritime data. We reason over it.

We’re looking for a Solution Engineer to join our commercial team in London. Someone who walks into a room with a CTO, a security analyst, a compliance officer, or a freight director - and owns the conversation. From first discovery to signed contract. You’ll act as the applied AI consultant and trusted advisor, and shape how customers think about maritime intelligence and help them see what's possible with Windward - not just what exists today.

What you’ll own:

  • Drive complex enterprise sales cycles - trials, demos, POVs, RFP responses - with security teams, freight analysts, and C-suite executives who know their domain cold.
  • Range from technical deep-dives with engineering teams to business value conversations with operational leadership.
  • Master Windward’s full product suite - Multi-source maritime intelligence, GraphQL API data integrations, and Windward Agentic - our AI-native autonomous intelligence product.
  • Take ideas from whiteboard to working prototype fast, using AI tools to compress timelines and show value before the competition gets in the door.
  • Own the AI strategy conversation - not just demo features, but architect the vision.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a technical sales role - ideally spanning both technology and the maritime sector.
  • A technical foundation - product, data, systems, or engineering backgrounds land well here. You don’t need to be a developer, but you need to think like one.
  • Experience and passion for AI tools. You must use them intensively every day. You need to love to build.
  • Natural ability to map personas and exceptional communication skills - understand the organizational dynamics and individual requirements.
  • Experience in or around the maritime or shipping industry, especially in maritime security. Naval intelligence experience is more than welcome.
  • Familiarity with satellite imagery analysis and operation is an advantage.
  • A mission-first mentality - you’ve operated, or want to operate, where failure isn’t an option.
  • Commitment. We’re a small team running fast. You show up fully, move quickly, and care about winning as much as anyone else in the room.
  • Willingness to travel 30% of the time.
