Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of the engineering and network design team for Green Gen Cymru’s network.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary engineering team as they work with consultants, contractors, customers and other electricity network owners.
  • Support the GGC project development and project delivery team in all aspects of engineering.
  • Ensure the appropriate distribution voltage level standards are applied to the network design.
  • Coordinate with Consents, Regulation, Connections, Project Management, Procurement and Construction teams.
  • Manage the ongoing engineering team engagement from connection offer to energisation.
  • Ensure the engineering team provides a good service to the project teams.
  • Manage the Green Gen Cymru engineering governance as the Technical Authority for engineering.
  • Ensure CDM is being applied to the engineering design throughout the different project phases.
  • Create engineering procedures and policies to ensure efficient and high standard design.
  • Attend working groups such as the ENA and INA as an authority.
  • Ensure compliance with the NESO grid code, ENA, Distribution code and any other applicable standards.
  • Drive policy change to improve engineering design management.
  • Support the Executive Director and Senior Management Team members to drive improvement.
  • Accurately report progress each month for Engineering.
  • Develop relationships with other DNOs, TOs, NESO and Ofgem.
  • Foster collaboration across disciplines.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Excellent communication and engagement skills.
  • A high standard of written and oral English.
  • Organised individual who can multi-task and manage the engineering team.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Degree qualification in engineering or relevant previous experience.
  • Proven record of accomplishment as a senior manager in energy project delivery environment.
  • Proven track record of managing engineering teams to deliver energy projects.
  • Experienced in application of CDM to engineering during different project phases.
  • Experience of delivery to regulated engineering standards.
  • Team management experience, developing individuals within a team.
