The Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Study Skills Officer to join our Student Services team on a Permanent, Term Time Only basis. Working across both our Strodes College and Windsor College Campuses, the role pays between G17 12,059.34 and G19 12,911.63 which will be dependant on experience and qualifications.
The Study Skills Officer at Windsor & Strodes Colleges is a part-time role working 20 hours per week during term time for 39 weeks per year. This position falls under the Student Services Department and reports to the Curriculum Administration Support Manager. The Study Skills Officer role is aimed at enhancing students' independent learning capabilities. To achieve this, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a program of workshops and personalized interventions that address various study skills, from basic literacy to higher education preparation skills like research and essay writing.
The Study Skills Officer collaborates closely with curriculum and tutorial teams to identify students in need of extra support and integrates external experts to enhance learning experiences. They are also tasked with promoting study skills services, ensuring the availability of up-to-date support materials, and managing the tracking and evaluation of these services to align with departmental targets and college priorities. Moreover, the role involves direct interaction with students and staff, managing learner behaviour, and contributing to community-building activities within the college. The officer may also handle some administrative duties and must be flexible to work additional hours during college events.
