Windsor Forest Colleges Group is looking for a Science Technician to join our Windsor College team on a permanent term-time only basis. This role pays between G16 £21,097.25 and G19 £23,448.78 (£24,098 - £26,784 FTE), which is dependent on skills and experience.
The primary purpose of the Science Technician is to provide high-quality technical support to the science department, ensuring a safe, effective, and well-resourced learning environment for students and teaching staff. This includes preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons, maintaining laboratories, and supporting the delivery of engaging and successful science practicals. The Science Technician plays a vital role in enabling outstanding teaching and learning by ensuring that practical experiments run smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing chemicals and equipment
- Setting up and clearing down laboratories
- Maintaining stock levels
- Carrying out routine checks and maintenance of equipment
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions where required
- Assisting with demonstrations
- Contributing to the overall organisation and development of the science learning environment
