Job Summary:
As a Vehicle Upfitter, you will be responsible for installing a wide range of aftermarket equipment and accessories in light- to medium-duty vehicles. This includes but is not limited to shelving, partitions, lighting systems, ladder racks, power inverters, and communications equipment. You’ll work with a team of technicians and follow build specifications to ensure timely and precise installations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install mechanical, electrical, and structural components according to work orders or schematics
• Modify interiors/exteriors of vans, trucks, and specialty vehicles
• Wire auxiliary lighting, power systems, and electronics (12V systems)
• Drill, cut, and fabricate mounting systems and supports
• Test and troubleshoot installed systems for proper operation and safety
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications:
• 3+ years experience in automotive, fabrication, electrical, or related trades (preferred)
• Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and basic electrical wiring
• Ability to read and interpret installation instructions, drawings, and wiring diagrams
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to provide a current driver’s abstract
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (standing, bending, crawling)
• Ability to provide a clear police background check
