Industry Placement Advisor – Overview

The primary objective of this role is to act as a bridge between the professional world and education, supporting students in acquiring essential employability skills and securing high‑quality industry placements that fulfil the criteria set by both the college and awarding bodies. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in retail, recruitment, account management, business development, or related fields who are passionate about student development and helping young people launch their careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with employers to secure placement opportunities for students.
  • Visit employers at their locations and cooperate with staff at Strode’s and Windsor College campuses.
  • Advises and coaches students on becoming job‑ready, including employability skills and interview preparation.
  • Ensure all placements meet college and awarding body criteria.
  • Maintain accurate placement records and provide regular reports to college leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to promote student development initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Full driving licence and own means of transport.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
  • Relevant industry experience in one or more of the sectors listed above.
  • Experience working in education or a commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of young people.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS and Barred List check and other legally required checks.

Salary and Working Hours

Working 37 hours per week over 41 weeks a year. Pro‑rated salary between £25,116.16 (H19) and £27,604.40 (H22) depending on experience and qualifications. Full‑time equivalent range is £27,284 (H19) to £29,987 (H22).
