Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Lecturer in Carpentry to join our Structural Technologies Department at Slough and Langley College on a full‑time permanent basis. The role pays on the Academic pay scale between T1 £31,633 and T11 £45,341 per year depending on qualifications and experience. This role requires working 37 hours per week Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Instructing students on the Level 1 and 2 Carpentry courses.
  • Designing comprehensive schemes of work.
  • Formulating lesson plans.
  • Delivering both theoretical and practical training.
  • Evaluating student performance.
  • Establishing individual learning milestones.
  • Offering academic and pastoral guidance.
  • Managing precise student records.
  • Collaborating with parents and external employers.
  • Actively participating in curriculum development and departmental quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery.
  • Level 2 credentials in English and mathematics.
  • Prior instructional experience in a vocational setting, with a proven ability to integrate core English and math concepts into woodworking coursework.
  • Strong organisational abilities, effective classroom management, and a strict commitment to safeguarding and inclusive educational practices.
  • Formal teaching qualification (Level 4 or Level 5) or assessor awards preferred but not mandatory.
