Overview
Windrush Care is looking for people of all backgrounds and experience to provide genuine person-centred care and support to older people in Cheltenham and North Cotswolds. We are a small, independent, family-owned business based in central Cheltenham, providing services to a predominantly private group of clients who live in their own homes.
What we offer first and foremost to our existing and future home carers is flexibility. Many of our other carers work around other jobs and family life; we believe in a healthy work-life balance.
What we offer
We offer a competitive hourly wage: £13.20 per hour (Mon-Fri) and £15.20 per hour (Weekends) + enhancements for Bank holidays, plus 40p per mile (From home to first call and onwards, then back home).
Availability
- Flexible, depending on the needs of our clients
- Ideally 12-20 hours per week
- Mornings, Evenings, Weekends – or a combination of two
- Saturday and Sunday availability (every other)
- On call Mon-Fri (out of office hours) on a four weekly rota basis (additional payment)

- Unannounced spot checks
- Prearranged spot checks
- Regular communication and feedback sessions
- Supporting new staff on shadow shifts

- Face to face training – Moving and Handling, Medication, Safeguarding and Emergency First Aid
- Specialist training and staff development, including Dementia, Palliative Care and Parkinson’s, etc.
- Opportunity to complete QCF Level 2-5 in Adult Health and Social Care after 6 months of continued employment (dependent on role)
- Access to all training certificates after 6 months of continued employment at no cost
- Paid holidays and enhanced bank holiday rates

- On-call support 7 days a week, 24 hours a day + supportive office team

- Clear and concise pay scales… with nothing hidden. For one hour of work – you will be paid our stated hourly rate (dependent on weekdays and weekends)
