  • Rota: 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Overview: Your primary responsibility will be to provide support Windracers UAV to the highest possible standard, delivering maintenance, modification and essential logistics anywhere in the world.

The role also demands a willingness to get stuck in with whatever needs to be done as the Company strives to achieve its goals.

Up to 75% of the work will be operating in countries currently in conflict

Responsibilities

  • Embodiment of planned fleet modifications
  • Completion of scheduled maintenance
  • Timely diagnosis, planning and completion of unscheduled maintenance / repair
  • Completion of post manufacture product development modifications in collaboration with engineering / R+D input where necessary
  • Ground testing of systems for post manufacture / modification quality assurance and for fault diagnosis / confirmation of diagnosis
  • Rectification of faults found during ground testing
  • Ground handling, refuelling and maintenance support to flying operations in strict accordance with Company Flight Operations procedures
  • Ensure compliance with airspace regulations and safety protocols
  • Data Collection – Document and report all issues and gather data as required by mission
  • Compliance and Regulations - Stay informed about and adhere to local, national, and international aviation regulations
  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals for flight operations in restricted areas
  • Communication - Coordinate with ground crews, project managers, and other team members to ensure seamless operations
  • Communicate with air traffic control / UAV Ground Control when required
  • Record flight, maintenance, modification and incident activity accurately on the appropriate document (electronic)
  • Training and Development - Stay updated on advancements in UAV technology and industry best practices. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge
  • General duties – carry out whatever reasonable work is required by the Company to accomplish its goals.

  • Work closely with other managers (Flight Operations, Engineering Functional & Customer Success) to align priorities and workflows.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication between your team and peer team management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experienced vehicle technician (air, automotive, marine or rail)
  • Essential: experienced mechanical or electrical / electronic vehicle fault diagnosis
  • Desirable: experienced mechanical and electrical / electronic vehicle fault diagnosis
  • Confident supervising within trade group
  • Ability to adapt and learn new skills
  • Ability to follow and give feedback on engineering drawings or manufacturing packs
  • Highly desirable: willingness to periodically operate from remote locations (UK or overseas at the discretion of the employee)
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office user
  • Desirable: Experienced project / progress management software user (eg ERP tools)
  • Experience reading MCAD and ECAD drawings
  • Desirable: Instructional experience in a related field
  • Ability to form effective working relationships quickly with key stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to be patient with others, able to build rapport, summarises key facts, and relay information in a timely and affective manner
  • Excellent organisational skills and knows what is required to ensure great outcomes
  • Attention to detail, quick and accurate, notices when information doesn’t look right and corrects errors or escalates as appropriate ensuring commitment to high standards
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at once without becoming overwhelmed
  • Ability to work to and meet deadlines and problem solve with conflicting priorities.
