Overview
Scope
The main purpose of Windracers MMRO&A projects will be in two areas, fast cycle modification of aircraft and planning MMRO support to aircraft (AC) deployments. Fast cycle modifications require an agile approach because the product is maturing design that is subject to continual improvement and secondly to address customer base urgent operational requirements.
The MMRO&A project manager will lead by example, bringing pace and agility in collaboration with engineering, supply chain and flight operations to rapidly assimilate requirements and ensure the engineering information, parts and test plan is made available so that embodiment is completed efficiently, effectively and safely. Similarly, the MMRO&A project manager will capture the output requirement of any AC deployment and lead the planning and delivery of the capability (AC, people and equipment) to ensuring all parties have a clear understanding of their part and its timing.
Based at the Windracers MMRO site, the role allows for some hybrid working but may require occasional coordination visits to remote operating locations.
Responsibilities
- Planning, leading and conducting:
- Capture of modification project parameters including production engineering, parts list, skills required, locations of aircraft, parts and customer lead time.
- Capture deployment project output parameters including operational flying requirement, number of and configuration of AC and environmental conditions.
- Capture the output parameters for any other projects that involve MMRO capability.
Continuous Improvement
- Develop the MMRO&A capability to achieve departmental and organisational objectives, establishing key targets for the team whilst growing along with the pace of the business.
- Ensure currency with all relevant industry practices, where applicable, and strive for a continuous learning approach to personal development for both you and the team.
- Provide a leading example to the team of adherence to company policies and culture and promote an open and transparent approach to reporting safety concerns and risks.
- Act as subject matter expert in support of the Availability Manager.

- Own the delivery of critical functional or technical areas (e.g. project timelines, compliance, technical direction).
- Ensure outcomes meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert within the airframe and powerplant production domains, working alongside, and supported by, additional subject matter experts within your teams.
- Guide and influence teams through technical leadership or coordination.
- Work closely with other managers (Engineering, Flight Ops MMRO, Production) to align priorities and workflows.
- Ensure effective two-way communication between yourself and other management leadership.
- Uphold documentation, quality, and compliance standards across your area.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency or scalability.
- Identify opportunities for improving tools, systems, or processes.
- Encourage team innovation and feedback in a scale-up environment.

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in project management or an environment that has demonstrated an ability to evaluate, task, coordinate and lead in the delivery of multifunctional demands and competing priorities.
- Experience presenting and justifying resource requirements to deliver a plan.
- Excellent logic and organisational skills.
- Conversant with a technical / engineering environment.
- Familiar with project / progress management / scheduling software (could include construction and use of excel based tools).
- Experience leading across functions, persuasive in working across departmental boundaries.
- Ability to adapt and learn new skills.
- Empathetic and skilful communicator used to dealing with and explaining competing priorities.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office user.
- Highly desirable: willingness to infrequently visit remote locations (UK or overseas at the discretion of the employee).
- Desirable: experience with ERP software.
- Right to work within the UK.
- Vetting and security clearance (as required by role, location or client).
