Sitting within the purchasing team, this role is responsible for raising RFQ’s, placing orders and managing suppliers in the Windracers Group. The key function of this role is to ensure the right parts are available at the right time for production and maintain stock of essential spare parts. The role encompasses managing data, managing suppliers, working with internal teams to create value, supplier performance and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Determining best source for lead-time, price, and quality.
  • Managing end to end procurement process of sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Ensuring on time delivery of purchase orders.
  • Monitor and improve key procurement KPI’s – Ontime delivery, cost reduction, and relevant metrics.
  • Work on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Other responsibilities as agreed with your Manager.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times in accordance with the company expected behaviours and values.
  • Work in accordance with company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Act always in a safe manner and in support of our Health and safety agenda.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Good understanding of Procurement processes and responsibility.
  • Experience of working in a busy procurement environment.
  • Experience of working with MRP systems.
  • Experience of managing suppliers.
  • Experience of working in Engineering and production environment.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment – ISO9001 etc.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Good data and analytical skills.
  • 5 years minimum experience in procurement.
  • Microsoft Excel to a good level.
  • Highly organised.
  • Right to work within the UK.
  • Ability to travel abroad to EU and non‑EU territories.
  • BPSS vetting minimum (within probation period) and SC clearance as required (by role, location or client).

Desirable

  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Understanding of MRP (Odoo).
  • CIPS.
