Windracers Limited is part of the Windracers Limited Group. Windracers design, manufacture and operate uncrewed autonomous drones that provide essential logistics within the mail and parcel, humanitarian assistance, defence, and environmental sectors. Operating at the forefront of the uncrewed, autonomous aviation industry, Windracers continues to grow.
We are looking for experienced and ambitious technicians who are experienced in UAV support or analogous technical support who can deliver our services and represent the Company on the global stage.
Position Overview
Your primary responsibility will be to provide support to Windracers UAV to the highest possible standard, delivering maintenance, modification and essential logistics anywhere in the world. The role also demands a willingness to get stuck in with whatever needs to be done as the Company strives to achieve its goals.
Responsibilities
- Embodiment of planned fleet modifications
- Completion of scheduled maintenance
- Timely diagnosis, planning and completion of unscheduled maintenance / repair
- Completion of post-manufacture product development modifications in collaboration with engineering / R+D input where necessary
- Ground testing of systems for post-manufacture / modification quality assurance and for fault diagnosis / confirmation of diagnosis
- Rectification of faults found during ground testing
- Ground handling, refuelling and maintenance support to flying operations in strict accordance with Company Flight Operations procedures
- Ensure compliance with airspace regulations and safety protocols
- Data Collection β Document and report all issues and gather data as required by mission
- Compliance and Regulations - Stay informed about and adhere to local, national, and international aviation regulations
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for flight operations in restricted areas
- Communication - Coordinate with ground crews, project managers, and other team members to ensure seamless operations
- Communicate with air traffic control / UAV Ground Control when required
- Record flight, maintenance, modification and incident activity accurately on the appropriate document (electronic)
- Training and Development - Stay updated on advancements in UAV technology and industry best practices. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge
- General duties β carry out whatever reasonable work is required by the Company to accomplish its goals.

- Ensure currency with all relevant industry practices, where applicable, and strive for a continuous learning approach to personal development for both you and the team
- Provide a leading example to the team of adherence to company policies and culture and promote an open and transparent approach to reporting safety concerns and risks
Supervisory Responsibilities
Operational Delivery: Plan day-to-day operations or project delivery within your function. Balance resource planning, risk management, and deadlines in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Manage Functional or Project Areas: Own the delivery of critical functional or technical areas (e.g. project timelines, compliance, technical direction). Ensure outcomes meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Contribute Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert within the MMRO domains, particularly when deployed alongside flight operations team and capability. Guide and influence teams through technical leadership or coordination.
Drive Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other managers (Flight Operations, Engineering Functional & Customer Success) to align priorities and workflows. Ensure effective two-way communication between your team and peer team management.
Maintain Standards and Promote Continuous Improvement: Uphold documentation, quality, and compliance standards across your area. Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency or scalability. Identify opportunities for improving tools, systems, or processes. Encourage team innovation and feedback in a scale-up environment.

Lead and Develop People: Manage, coach, and support your team. Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning. Qualifications & Experience
- Experienced vehicle technician (air, automotive, marine or rail)
- Essential: experienced mechanical or electrical / electronic vehicle fault diagnosis
- Desirable: experienced mechanical and electrical / electronic vehicle fault diagnosis
- Confident supervising within trade group
- Ability to adapt and learn new skills
- Ability to follow and give feedback on engineering drawings or manufacturing packs
- Highly desirable: willingness to periodically operate from remote locations (UK or overseas at the discretion of the employee)
- Experienced with Microsoft Office user
- Desirable: Experienced project / progress management software user (e.g. ERP tools)
- Experience reading MCAD and ECAD drawings
- Desirable: Instructional experience in a related field
- Ability to form effective working relationships quickly with key stakeholders (internal and external)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to be patient with others, able to build rapport, summarise key facts, and relay information in a timely and effective manner
- Excellent organisational skills and knows what is required to ensure great outcomes
- Attention to detail, quick and accurate, notices when information doesnβt look right and corrects errors or escalates as appropriate ensuring commitment to high standards
- Ability to work on multiple tasks at once without becoming overwhelmed
- Ability to work to and meet deadlines and problem solve with conflicting priorities.
- Working knowledge of MS Office

Qualification Requirements
- Clean Driving Licence with ability to drive C1, D1, D1E.
