Job Description

Scope

Plan for and lead the conduct of ground test, support to air test, modification and maintenance of Windracer ULTRA Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) at the Windracers facility at Llanbedr Airfield. Manage the spares, ground equipment and vehicles stored on site and be the liaison with the local airfield management. Collaborate with and guide technicians deployed from the Windracers base and work as part of a the multifunctional team to support flying operations.

Responsibilities

Planning, leading and conducting:

  • The embodiment of planned fleet modifications
  • The completion of scheduled maintenance
  • The diagnosis,planningand completion of unscheduled maintenance / repair
  • The completion of defined post manufacture special to role modifications
  • Ground testing of systems for post manufacture / modification quality assurance and for fault diagnosis / confirmation of diagnosis
  • The rectification offaults found during ground testing
  • The ground handling,refuellingand maintenance support to flying operations
  • The collation of feedback on system and design challenges for availability management and engineering teams
  • Management of the repair of faults found on Llanbedr basedaircraftfleet support vehicles and ground support equipment
  • Management of the relationship with procurement for the supply ofthird partymaintenance of vehicles and ground support equipment
  • The management of sparesrequiredfor modification,maintenanceand repair (MMRO) in Llanbedr
  • Management of the relationship with procurement for the supply of spare parts for the stock held in Llanbedr using the relevant electronic inventory management system (ERP)
  • This disposition of spares for deployedaircraftoperations support
  • Completion of and maintenance of relevantaircraftand equipment electronic records
  • The continued management of workspace, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness is maintained
  • The conduct of all activity within your area of responsibility in a safe manner andin accordance withtheWindracersHealth and Safety agenda
  • The relationship with the local airfield management (landlord) for facilities and logistic support (not for flight operations)
  • The conduct of facilities husbandry for the areas leased byWindracers

Responsible for:

  • Workingin accordance withWindracersvalues, policies,proceduresand guidelines
  • The supervision and approval of work conducted by subordinate technicians

  • Work closely with other managers (Flight Operations, Engineering Functional & Customer Success) to align priorities and workflows.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication between your team and peer team management.

  • Uphold documentation, quality, and compliance standards across your area.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency or scalability.
  • Identifyopportunities for improving tools, systems, or processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experienced in leading and supervising vehicle technicians (air, automotive, marine or rail)
  • Essential: experienced in the supervision of mechanical or electrical / electronic vehicle fault diagnosis
  • Desirable: experienced in the supervision of mechanical and electrical / electronic vehicle fault diagnosis
  • Ability to adapt and learn new skills
  • Empathetic and skilful communicator
  • Ability to manage the collation and generation of on engineering drawings or manufacturing / modification packs
  • Highly desirable: willingness to periodicallyoperatefrom remote locations (UK or overseas at the discretion of the employee)
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office user
  • Evidence of an ability to learn how to use special to role fleet management project / progress management software
  • Experience reading MCAD and ECAD drawings
  • Right to work within the UK.
  • Vetting and security clearance (as required by role,locationor client).
