Window to the Womb & firstScan Health is a leading diagnostic obstetric, gynaecology, and general health ultrasound franchise offering private scans using the latest imaging equipment. Our services include gynae and fertility scans, pregnancy scans from six to 42 weeks, and a range of general health ultrasound scans for men and women. In obstetrics, we have more than 14 years of experience and to date have scanned over 100,000 babies. These scans comprise early pregnancy, fetal well-being, growth, gender, and 4D ultrasound packages. Our focus is on providing safe, high-quality prenatal imaging and memorable experiences for expectant families.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, for an Obstetric, Gynaecology, and General Sonographer. The sonographer will perform high-quality obstetric, gynaecological, and general ultrasound examinations in accordance with clinical guidelines and company protocols. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Preparing patients and explaining procedures
  • Obtaining and optimising diagnostic images
  • Assessing fetal well-being and anatomy
  • Documenting findings clearly and accurately in medical reports

The role also involves:

  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure a safe, welcoming environment
  • Maintaining and checking ultrasound equipment
  • Adhering to infection control and health and safety standards

The sonographer will provide clear, empathetic communication to patients, escalate any clinical concerns appropriately, and support continuous improvement in clinical quality and patient experience.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Proficiency in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound and care
  • Experience in general health scans
  • Recognised sonography qualification (e.g., postgraduate diploma/degree in medical ultrasound or equivalent)
  • Current professional registration with one of the following: HCPC, RCT, GMC, NMC
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for compassionate patient care
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical setting
  • Commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance and upholding high standards of medical ethics
