The role of Trainee Design Engineer is to provide a design service of new and existing products, technical literature and technical services to support the growth of the business. The individual has the responsibility to ensure agreed objectives are achieved, whilst ensuring employee safety.
Mandatory Responsibilities
- Adherence to all organisational policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
- Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
- Represent the organisation in a positive way to avoid damage to corporate image or bringing the company into disrepute.
- Promote and display the Epwin Core Values.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the HSWA is complied with at all times and ensure that all accidents and near misses are fully investigated.
- Ensure that Company HR procedures are followed within the scope of responsibility.
- Provide basic ‘U’ value calculation service.
- Provide loading calculation service to customers.
- Provision of technical support for the determination of industry and legislative data for both internal and external customers.
- Ensure that CAD systems and data storage are maintained and secure, for the protection of company data and IP.
- Cross departmental co-ordination for the management of products and services.
- Provision of drawing and technical administration support to business operations.
- Fabrication of Window and Door Systems including assisting with internal and external product testing.
- Communicate effectively within the organisation and build strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Champion continuous improvement for all aspects of the product development environment, processes and equipment.
