JOB TITLE: Process Operator

LOCATION: Telford

HOURS: 4 on 4 off (days and nights) 7:00-19:00/ 19:00-7:00

REPORTS TO: Team Manager

Job Purpose: The Process Operator will be responsible for the monitoring of the extrusion process and product quality assigned to them by their Team Manager, whilst contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing function.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Adherence to all organisational policies, management systems and standard
  • operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health,
  • Safety, Environmental and Quality.
  • Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues
  • and contracted personnel to maintain a culture of mutual respect and
  • dignity.
  • Represent the organisation in a positive way as to avoid the damage of corporate
  • image or bringing the company into disrepute.
  • Promote and Display the Epwin Core Values.
  • Key Experiences and Skills Required:

  • Monitor and record the required process parameters at the required times.
  • Carry our relevant checks on assigned products as required by the product quality
  • plan.
  • Record scrap information. Segregate all non-conforming product from good
  • production.
  • Communicate information via the relevant communication channels.
  • Record all required information for all operations as per company works
  • instructions/procedures.
  • Alert relevant people to process and product concerns.
  • Agree and complete training and development requirements as determined by the
  • Team Manager and the training plan.
  • Safeguard property issued by the company.
  • Shutdown extrusion machine (include emergency shutdown).
  • Ensure workplace is clean and tidy – all housekeeping procedures followed
  • associated with tasks.
  • Low level maintenance tasks when required.
  • Fault rectification and problem solving (low level)
  • Transfer the knowledge and skills among the team (others).
  • Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Good level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Good ability with Microsoft software.
  • Good / Strong communication skills.
  • Performance Measures

  • Development of skills and competence in line with the training plan.
