We have a new opportunity for a Night Porter to join our hotel; you will receive a competitive salary plus benefits which include free onsite parking, free membership to our state of the art gym and golf club, discounted food & beverage and discounted stays within the group.
First impressions are everything; as our Night Porter you will be warm and welcoming, providing the guest with an efficient and courteous welcome and departure service.
You will be working alongside our night managers; always willing to go the extra mile for your guests as this role is very varied and brings new challenges each and every day.
You will be responsible for the general overseeing of the hotel & bar areas; your energy and personality along with your knowledge of the hotel services and the local area will create a lasting memory for our guests.
The individual should have experience in working within a small team and possess skills such as; team player, proactive, eye for detail and honesty.
An enthusiastic positive personality is essential and previous guest facing experience would be advantageous to your application.
Key responsibilities for the Night Porter are
- Ensure that the property has been locked down, that all doors and windows have been locked securely.
- Carry out handover procedures at start and end of shift.
- Be well presented and committed to providing excellent customer service.
- Offer a full service of the room menu, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to residents ensuring to adhere to current licensing laws.
- Assist with the handling of emergencies e. g. fire alerts, accidents and security alerts in a prompt and professional manner.
- Ensure all maintenance issues observed during the hours of duty are reported.
- Be responsible for the cleaning of public areas and meeting rooms, ensuring that the hotel is ready for the following operating day.
- Have excellent communication skills as you will need to maintain full communication with your direct line manager and receptionists regarding hotel and guest activity at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Ensure that security walks are conducted throughout the shift, with particular attention to security and health and safety related matters.
- Help in the set-up of breakfast in preparation for morning service.
