Overview

Windlesham House is a distinctive day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 4-13 where tradition meets innovation, providing opportunities for the children to be creative, courageous and successful.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out cleaning to a high standard across all areas of the school including the academic buildings, boarding houses, and support offices to ensure readiness for the school day.
  • Clean boarding houses, including washrooms, dormitories and all communal areas, with cleaning continuing after pupils depart until lunchtime.
  • Clean academic rooms and offices, typically in the early morning before the start of lessons, ensuring classrooms are ready for teachers and pupils and washrooms are clean and fully stocked.
  • Work during the week before the start of term and the week at the end of term (spring cleaning weeks).
  • Be punctual, reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team; good communication with colleagues and management.
  • Shift patterns: day shifts 9.00am–2.00pm, Monday to Friday; evening shifts 6.00pm–10.00pm, Monday to Friday; 34 term-time weeks plus six spring cleaning weeks.

  • Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in a school environment with attention to detail.
  • Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Potential additional hours during school lettings.
  • Safeguarding: willing to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
