Account Manager – Private Client Insurance, Coastal Team

The primary focus of this role will be to support our growing Coastal client base as an Account Manager on a book of established and new clients. Your primary responsibilities in this role will be the ongoing, day-to-day management of your book of business, retention of new and renewal clients, and maintaining a partnership with the producer(s) to support business development activities while upholding the highest of service standards to our clients. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Managing established book of existing and onboarding of new clients
  2. Resolving client questions, requests and issues with urgency and enthusiasm
  3. Cross selling / offering lines of coverage that are not currently written
  4. Staying abreast of changes in clients’ lifestyle that impact their risk profile and coverages
  5. Conducting annual reviews of clients’ insurance program
  6. Marketing and negotiating renewals for existing clients
  7. Maintaining relationships with multiple insurance company and broker representatives to competitively negotiate and obtain quotes, binders, endorsements, etc.
  8. Understanding and maintaining local knowledge of carrier appetites for Coastal risks and be proficient in the rating procedures and platforms to support the book of business
  9. Checking policies for accuracy and preparing client communication for delivery, invoices, summaries of insurance, certificates, ID cards, evidence of insurance, binders, endorsements, etc.
  10. Utilizing the Epic/Applied system in an accurate and timely manner to meet agency standard operating procedure requirements and client service standards

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  1. At least 3 years of recent Private Client Lines Account Management experience
  2. Coastal accounts experience preferred
  3. Demonstrated success in overall customer service
  4. High School diploma: undergraduate degree preferred
  5. Property & Casualty insurance agent’s license required
  6. Professional designation (CISR/CIC/API/CPRM/CPIA/CRM/CPCU) preferred
  7. Willingness to continue education is essential

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  1. Intermediate to advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Applied Epic software proficiency preferred, but not required.
  2. Ability to work with internal and external clients at all levels
  3. High level of organization ability
  4. High degree of self-discipline and motivation
  5. Ability to follow processes and procedures and help develop new processes and procedures to help the agency become more efficient
  6. Solution driven problem-solving skills and proven analytical skills
  7. Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to plan, manage expiration lists and related priorities
  8. Must possess the ability to work independently, applying education and professional experience to achieve outstanding results
  9. Demonstrates highest level technical and cognitive abilities to ensure accuracy, precision, and the highest level of client service through solutions
  10. Team player with a strong work ethic
  11. Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills
  12. Demonstrates considerable tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment with ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  13. High level of maturity and stability with an \’optimistic\’ approach
  14. A self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach and hands-on experience
