Account Manager – Business Insurance, Real Estate Team
The primary focus of this role will be to support our growing Real Estate Practice and serve as an Account Manager on a book of established real estate development clients. Your primary responsibilities in this role will be the ongoing, day-to-day management of your book of business, retention of new and renewal clients, and maintaining a partnership with the producer and account executive to support business development activities while upholding the highest of service standards to our clients. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Managing established book of existing clients
- Resolving client questions, requests and issues with urgency and enthusiasm
- Cross selling / offering lines of coverage that are not currently written, and/or bringing in the internal agency expertise to assist
- Marketing and negotiating renewals for existing clients
- Maintaining relationships with multiple insurance company and broker representatives to competitively negotiate and obtain quotes, binders, endorsements, etc.
- Mastering and maintaining knowledge of all carrier web-based marketing systems to support the book of business
- Back-office management of documentation that meets agency standard operating procedure requirements and client service standards
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- At least 5 years of recent Business Lines Account Management experience
- Large property accounts experience preferred
- Demonstrated success in overall customer service
- High School diploma: undergraduate degree preferred
- Property & Casualty insurance agent’s license required
- Professional designation (CPCU/CIC/ACSR/CISR) preferred
- Willingness to continue education is essential
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Technical: Intermediate to advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Applied Epic software proficiency preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work with internal and external clients at all levels
- High level of organization ability
- High degree of self-discipline and motivation
- Ability to follow processes and procedures and help develop new processes and procedures to help the agency become more efficient
- Solution driven problem-solving skills and proven analytical skills
- Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to plan, manage expiration lists and related priorities
- Must possess the ability to work independently, applying education and professional experience to achieve outstanding results
- Demonstrates highest level technical and cognitive abilities to ensure accuracy, precision, and the highest level of client service through solutions
- Ability to understand and manage complex projects while working under tight schedules and deadlines
- Team player with a strong work ethic
- Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates considerable tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment with ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
