Eden Scott are delighted to be supporting Wind Estate to appoint an Assistant Project Manager into their Construction Team based from their Edinburgh office (Gyle Business Park). This represents an excellent opportunity for a graduate with a few years of Construction management experience to join a great team and work on exciting onshore wind projects across central Scotland.
The Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of wind energy projects through the Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases. This role works closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Strong planning and organisational skills are essential to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Project Scheduling and time management
- Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, work plans, and milestones using planning tools (e.g., MS Project or similar).
- Track progress against the project plan and proactively identify schedule risks or delays.
- Support look-ahead planning, sequencing of activities, and coordination of resources across disciplines.
- Prepare regular planning and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist compilation and development of Project Management Plan.
- Support day-to-day project activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, capture action items, and follow up to ensure closure.
- Assist with subcontractor and supplier coordination to align timelines and deliverables.
- Assist with cost tracking, budget updates, and forecasting.
- Support change management processes, including variation tracking and documentation.
- Help tracking contract obligations, purchase orders, and scope of work documents.
- Support identification and tracking of project risks and mitigation actions.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements specific to wind projects.
- Help monitor quality control activities and documentation.
- Maintain organised project documentation, including schedules, reports, correspondence, and records.
- Prepare status updates, dashboards, and presentations for management and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in project coordination or project management, preferably within renewable energy, wind, or large infrastructure projects.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
- Proficiency in project planning and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project or similar).
- Solid understanding of project lifecycle phases and construction planning principles.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience working on onshore or offshore wind projects.
- Familiarity with EPC or balance-of-plant scopes.
- Knowledge of wind turbine installation, logistics, or commissioning activities.
- Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2) is a plus.
- Highly organised and proactive planner.
- Solution-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- Highly personable and able to build relationships.
