Overview
As we look to further bolster our market leading, built environment offering to our clients, our London based construction department are looking for a growth hire, Solicitor level lawyer to join the team, on a full-time basis.
The role will see you work closely with all members of the 18-person team. You will work with a variety of clients ranging from residential and commercial developers and national house builders, investment funds, entrepreneurs and Housing Associations undertaking large high-profile developments, and urban regeneration projects.
The team works collaboratively with other departments of the firm and forms part of the significant real estate offering to clients. The department has a particular specialism in communal heat and power and other energy systems, and the contentious practice covers the full variety of dispute resolution procedures including litigation, arbitration, adjudication and expert determination, on issues ranging from delay and final account claims to defects and professional negligence claims.
As the department advises on both contentious and non-contentious construction law, we are looking for someone who is either happy to maintain a balance of both or focus on contentious work.
About you
We are looking for someone with prior experience in a construction team, used to running their own matters (under supervision). You will also have a genuine interest in construction law and a love for technical detail, due to the complex nature of the work.
Working in a large team will bring out your ability to juggle conflicting deadlines from a variety of fee-earners and give you an opportunity to show-case your time management skills. Your proactive approach to your work will enable you to assist in progressing cases/projects and give you the chance to build upon your project management skillset.
In return, you will be joining a friendly, talented team of construction lawyers who work on a wide range of construction law issues. Day to day, you will be working on high quality fee-earning work, which will give you the chance to hone your time recording, drafting and case/document management skills.

Offer of employment
If you are successful and accept our offer of employment, we will submit your details to our background screening company (Giant), who will conduct a series of background checks. Once these have been completed and we have separately validated your proof of right to work in the UK, a start date can be agreed, and your onboarding schedule can be planned.
