Finance Systems Manager – Winckworth Sherwood LLP
Our London‑based Finance Department is looking for a Finance Systems Manager to join them. You will be a key support to the busy team and have a leading role in the development and roll‑out of further improvements/customisation of Elite 3E and Intapp Time, across the wider business; as well as supporting the data analysis requirements of the Finance team and senior management team.
As our Finance Systems Manager, your role will have a direct contribution to our growth strategy via the leveraging of finance data insights and finance systems improvements.
You will report to the Director of Finance and also work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, and our IT team to drive process improvements across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of the Finance Systems function
- With the COO and Director of Finance, develop and deliver the Finance Systems roadmap and strategy, ensuring systems (especially Elite 3E) are maintained, integrated, migrated to the cloud when appropriate and upgraded smoothly
- Troubleshoot and fix system issues and data integrity problems, perform system balancing, month‑end and year‑end processes, GL reconciliations and mapping
- Core system maintenance: new offices, staff, GL accounts, fee‑earner targets, pricing and profitability structures, and other configurations
- Support the Financial reporting team in automating the production of team and individual performance management information either through SQL reporting or Power BI platforms
- Produce standard and bespoke reports: create custom SQL queries, run scripts, build dashboards in Power BI/AFR and analyse data for clients and the business.
About You
You will be able to call upon considerable experience in a similar role, with experience in a law firm or professional services environment. You will have a deep-rooted passion for finance technology and enjoy the cognitive challenge of:
- Devising and executing systems strategy and roadmaps
- Migrating systems and implementing change control
- Balancing a service‑focused working environment alongside project delivery.
You will be able to demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and be able to use your interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of colleagues across varying seniority levels. You will also have the ability and experience to project manage different work streams, whilst being solution‑oriented, and focusing on excellent client care.

At this stage, you will meet our Chief Operating Officer (as well as our Director of Finance again), and this interview will be focused on your technical systems expertise, as well as asking you additional competency/behavioural based questions.

Offer of employment
If you are successful and accept our offer of employment, we will submit your details to our background screening company (Giant), who will conduct a series of background checks. Once these have been completed and we have separately validated your proof of right to work in the UK, a start date can be agreed, and your onboarding schedule can be planned.
