POSITION: Elementary Literacy Coordinator & Title I Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree
  • Licensure as Reading Specialist
  • Licensure as Supervisor/Director Preferred
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Reading Specialist or Elementary Level Administrator. Classroom experience preferred
  • Any of these qualifications may be waived at the discretion of the Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Assistant Superintendent and elementary leadership team to provide instructional and curriculum development support for all components of the K-5 literacy program.
  • Provide instructional coaching, consultation, and professional development for K-5 teachers to enhance literacy instruction.
  • Serve as the Title I District Coordinator to manage and ensure compliance with all Title I grant requirements, including budgeting, program implementation, and reporting.
  • In collaboration with principals, oversee, evaluate, and provide direct support to the Elementary Reading Specialists.
  • Lead analysis of state and local test data to determine and address program improvement needs in literacy.
  • Oversee and help facilitate literacy program pilots/reviews.
  • Oversee the implementation, analysis, and continuous improvement of literacy assessments and progress monitoring tools.
  • Provide professional development on topics related to literacy during professional development release time, curriculum improvement time, and afterschool/summer as needed.
  • Participate in and support the implementation of the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP) and Individual Student Success Plans (ISSPs) related to literacy.
  • Facilitate literacy-related committees and initiatives.
  • Work with parent and community groups to organize parent workshops, informational sessions, and community outreach initiatives to strengthen support for the elementary literacy program.
  • Coordinate with the McCall Middle School administrators, 6-12 Director of English, and teachers to articulate the curriculum and provide a smooth transition from elementary to middle school.
  • Present to the School Committee and parents/guardians as needed.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 205 days, starting July 1, 2025
