ED Tech – 36 hours, eve/night rotating shift
Hours: 36 hours, rotating day/night shift 11:00am – 11:00 pm and 3:00pm – 3:00am, including weekend and holiday rotations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience Required: Certified Nursing Assistant, nursing student with completion of one medical-surgical clinical rotation or one year clinical care experience or equivalent education, one year clinical care experience, EMT or emergency room clinical experience.
Preferred: High school diploma/equivalent, emergency patient care experience, EKG experience, phlebotomy experience.
Other Skills/Knowledge: Basic computer skills, Crisis Prevention/Intervention.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS: Preferred: Nursing Assistant, EMT, Medical Assistant, and/or Phlebotomist certification.
Life Support Certification Required: BLS.
POPULATION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: All age categories.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: On-call: n/a. Schedule: Holiday and weekend rotation required. Travel: May be scheduled at either the Emergency Department or off-site Walk-In Urgent Care, based on department needs.
JOB FUNCTIONS: As part of the Emergency Department/Walk-in Urgent Care team, provides quality and safe patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include patient orientation, meeting ambulance, observing and reporting patient status, responding to crises, performing EKGs, managing supplies, assisting with procedures, and ensuring safety and infection control protocols are followed.
This position requires flexibility to respond to unanticipated and changing situations, and may include tasks not explicitly listed above.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have the physical and mental ability to perform duties, with contact with blood, bodily fluids, potentially hazardous chemicals, and adherence to vaccination requirements.
