Job Description

Summary and purpose of position:

To support the weekly operational activities in/outbound, leading the teams to a safe, efficient and effective working environment, being a liaison between S&S, planning and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Effective line management of shift leads and MTOs
  • Proactively contribute to achieving performance and operational targets for each shift, safety, quality, service, absence
  • Ensure health and safety standards on site are always adhered to
  • Create and deliver effective and engaging briefings
  • Manage inventory control using scan guns, tablets, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Establish priorities, communicate, and escalate them effectively
  • Be a presence in the warehouse, and lead by example with a safety-first approach
  • Management and upkeep of the payroll system; Oracle/Kronos
  • Assigning safety roles for the day and ensuring communication boards are up to date
  • Collating data for senior management and the client and communicating this when requested
  • Ensuring operational activities are executed right first time and training colleagues to continuously improve
  • Contributing, mentoring, and driving team development

Experience, Skills, and Attributes

  • Experience with Microsoft Applications
  • Previous warehouse experience is essential
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems beneficial
  • Line management experience
  • Superb communicator, target driven and highly motivated
  • MHE experience desirable
  • Driving license desirable
  • CITB MAPS
