Wincanton for Sainsbury\βs at our Thameside depot in London are looking for a Warehouse Team Manager to join the team. You will lead a team of colleagues across four grocery chambers (ambient, frozen, chill and produce) to receive, pick and load store orders accurately, safely and in a timely manner to meet the outbound loading schedule.
The Warehouse Team Manager reports directly to the Warehouse Shift Manager. and will be responsible and accountable for managing and motivating a team of up to 20-30 colleagues to deliver targets to strict timelines
This is a hands on role that requires the ability to work closely with peers and engage at all levels with good communication skills.
The salary for this role is dependant on experience, starting from Β£32,400 per annum.
Any 5 days from 7, shift times are rotating earlies and lates 06:00 -14:00 and 14:00-22:00.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Motivate and manage the team to achieve, and where possible exceed, all performance objectives.
- Effective management of resources to achieve KPIs (cost, quality, service, and absence).
- Ensure a proactive approach to Health & Safety via risk assessment and by ensuring that warehouse team members comply with Health and Safety policies and requirements.
- Conduct regular individual reviews and where necessary agree a performance improvement plan.
- To manage employees through the effective application of Company terms and conditions, policies (capability and conduct, absence, equal opportunities) and procedures (grievance, disciplinary, terminations).
What will you bring?
- Experienced in supervising or managing a team in a warehouse environment.
- Attention to detail in order to analyse data and make recommendations.
- Customer focused and able to build effective relationships with team, client and other third parties..
- Experience of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment is essential.
- Experience in a warehouse environment, including detailed understanding of warehouse management systems.
- Excellent communication skills combined with logical problem solving skills.
- Enthusiastic, committed and able to respond positively to changing demands.
- Experience of using MS Office applications such as Word, Excel to an intermediate standard
