How will you contribute?

  • Reporting to the Assistant General Manager.
  • Responsible for leading, motivating and guiding the team of Warehouse First Line Managers, Team Leaders and Colleagues.
  • Assigning tasks to ensure optimal productivity.
  • Plan and manage operation resources to optimize utilisation of labour and equipment.
  • Responsible for optimizing the work tasks and reporting figures daily, identifying stock or picking/loading errors and highlighting these to the relevant teams.
  • Engage with your team and drive a positive culture where colleagues are encouraged and motivated to contribute to the team performance.
  • Drive a high level of clear communication between colleagues and management, as well as with support functions.
  • Ensure regular briefings, attending meetings.
  • Responsible for the Health & Safety of the team and ensuring tasks are carried out in line with the relevant procedures.
  • Promote the company and customer site culture and values as well as driving and promoting the right behaviours within your team.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring support as well as the training and development of your team to ensure the right skills.
  • Proactively seek Continuous Improvements in process/methods of operating and also in the introduction of best practice within the site.

What will you bring?

  • You will have experience of working as a Shift Manager or similar level role in a warehouse environment.
  • A proven track record in the management of people in a multi cultural environment.
  • The ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with colleagues, customers and other managers.
  • The ability to build rapport with employees and customers and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent team building, organizational, leadership, and motivational skills.
  • You must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate in an open and honest manner with your team.
  • Approachable, and the ability to deal with situations in a fair consistent, diplomatic and assertive manner.
  • Be able to work and continue to build relationships within a unionised environment.
  • It will be an advantage if you have a working knowledge of budgets and cost control.
  • Have a passion for innovation, Continuous Improvement and leading change.
  • You must have the commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility to work various shift patterns which are able to respond to seasonal customer demand.
