Job Description
You will be supporting the Transport Management team by helping to execute the Transport and Fleet plans and achieving the Transport KPI, along with delivering great service to our stores through effective coordination of the movement of fleet around the site.
You will be responsible for ensuring loading schedules are adhered to in a timely manner and assist in all vehicle servicing and maintenance requirements whilst using a variety of systems and processes to input, produce and maintain accurate information.
Ownership and accountability for local purchasing (uniforms, stationary etc).
You will also have general administrative duties supporting the leadership team requirements.
Transport Support Assistant Overview
You will be supporting the Transport Management team by helping to execute the Transport and Fleet plans and achieving the Transport KPI, along with delivering great service to our stores through effective coordination of the movement of fleet around the site.
You will be responsible for ensuring loading schedules are adhered to in a timely manner and assist in all vehicle servicing and maintenance requirements whilst using a variety of systems and processes to input. produce and maintain accurate information.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure the efficiency of trailer availability across the Warehouse Operation.
- Collaborate effectively with the Transport and Fleet operation, creating and sustaining effective and efficient working relationships.
- Responsible for liaising with the depot shunting team, providing clear guidance and instructions in a timely manner to enable optimum performance.
- To give priority to exceeding the needs of customers, demonstrating, and promoting a customer focused approach to operational activities.
- Identify and manage vehicle movements within the site, prioritising as and when necessary, with a responsibility for the correct placement of vehicles.
- Provide an accurate representation of the site view to ensure operational plans can be met.
- Ownership of procurement, office supplies and colleague uniform co-ordination.
- Support the Operation to ensure that all servicing and maintenance requirements are carried out with the consideration for budget and cost.
- Collate and present necessary information to the Transport Management Team.
- Work as part of the wider operational team to identify and suggest process improvements.
- Communicate in a timely and effective way, using a variety of methods including telephone, face-to-face, Microsoft Teams or email.
- Generate ideas and solutions on how to execute the team strategy within the given standards.
- Assist with other administrative duties where necessary as designate by the Line Manager.
What Will You Bring To The Team
- An understanding and/or experience in using \βYard\β system would be beneficial.
- PC literacy is essential in order to be able to use the dock scheduling system.
- Computer literacy and able to use a range of systems and platforms including Microsoft programmes, Yard and Microlise.
- Communicate clearly with an ability to adapt your message so the audience can understand the message.
