Overview
Senior Traffic Operator – Coventry
Based on a traffic desk in the Transport Office in Coventry. Working closely with the Operations Managers in Coventry. You will take on additional responsibility and help develop the Traffic Operators. You will co-ordinate, supervise and report on the work activities of a team, providing effective communication, leadership and motivation.
Responsibilities
- Allocate work and de-brief all drivers on return
- Identify and manage infringements; analyse drivers print-offs; monitor completion of delivery paperwork
- Manage communication and escalation of issues
- Lead on team management: direct daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment; deliver driver performance reviews and development as appropriate
- Manage investigations in line with HR Policy; ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies
- Organise and lead focus on improved productivity; plan workload and manage resources
- Manage defect process, VORs and breakdowns; ensure the accident management process is adhered to
- Manage shipments to Ireland and DGN notes; handle day-to-day driver queries and issues
- Allocate work to all drivers and de-brief drivers daily; manage driver and road compliance and working time legislation
- Complete vehicle accident reports with drivers as appropriate
- Escalate issues to Senior Managers as required; ensure daily communication of delivery shortages/overs
- Ensure Connect/tri-scan is managed and updated; complete vehicle inspections for general hygiene
- Ensure leadership approach and timely follow-up on raised issues
