Sainsburys Charlton Warehouse Team Manager

Overview

To support and manage a team of up to 20 colleagues and to provide our store and customer network with a first-class service. This role will suit someone with the ability and aspiration to develop and progress to the next level of Shift Manager and should have a broad knowledge of the operation as well as good people skills and is a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Support a culture of care driving improvements in health and safety and hold regular meetings with the team to discuss and improve safety.
• Track and ensure operational targets are met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Proactively motivate teams by providing guidance and encouragement.
• Ensure management presence on the floor and that they are effective in supporting and driving performance through process and that colleagues are working as trained.
• Proactively encourage a positive and constructive relationship on site with the union and union representatives.
• Increase and improve communication with stores.
• Ensure compliance with Customer Processes for Management, Operations, Systems and Admin.
• Proactively engage with all on-site teams through effective communication and handovers.
• Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and department.

Skills – Required

• Management of health and safety
• Knowledge of People Process
• Knowledge of Red Prairie and CPM
• Experience of supervising / managing a team
• Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines
• A good communicator both verbal and written
• Excellent PC skills
• A flexible team-based approach
