We have an exciting opportunity for aRegional Driver Trainerto join our team atWincanton, covering theMilton Keynes and London areas including Dartford and Crawley.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering and managingDriver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)training, conductingon-the-road assessments, and developingdriver development plans. You will also lead the delivery ofWincanton\’s core driver inductionandspecialist training programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver DCPC training sessions across the allocated region.
- Conduct on-road driver assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Develop and implement tailored driver development plans.
- Facilitate Wincanton\’s core induction and specialist training modules.
- Collaborate with contracts across the region to meet training needs.
- Use Wincanton systems and data to identify training opportunities and ensure compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
What We\’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in driver training and development.
- Strong understanding of DCPC requirements and transport compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Skills & Competencies
- Licensed HGV Driver (C+E)with over 2 years of experience operating large goods vehicles across regional and national routes.
- Qualified Trainerholding a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent), with a strong grasp of adult learning principles and inclusive teaching practices.
- Training Development & Delivery: Skilled in designing and delivering engaging Driver CPC modules, induction programmes, and specialist training using a variety of resources and methods.
- Compliance Expertise: In-depth knowledge of EC Driver Hours, UK Domestic Hours, and Working Time Directive legislation, with the ability to articulate, audit, and advise on compliance.
- Safety & Accreditation Awareness: Familiar with key safety schemes and standards including ADR, FORS, CLOCS, and LLCS.
- Human Factors Training: Experience delivering training focused on behavioural safety, decision-making, and risk awareness.
- Professional Integrity: Committed to confidentiality, fairness, and ethical reporting, regardless of working relationships.
- IT Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and digital training platforms.
- Leadership & Organisation: Strong prioritisation and delegation skills, with the ability to manage training schedules across multiple sites.
- Desirable Qualification: International Transport Manager CPC (or working towards).
