Job Description
How will you contribute?
- Accident investigation – support disciplinary interviews and investigations as required
- Supporting Operations Team with Safety and Compliance audits
- Unannounced delivery audits and training for operational team
- Providing guidance and training on driver standards
- Work in conjunction with H&S, Operations Management, and Union to ensure SSOWs are up to date and relevant
- Monitoring driver performance, establishing risks, and taking steps to improve poor performance
- Supporting the Operations team with driving assessments for new starters, post-incident, and ongoing driver development
- Conducting Risk Assessments as required by legislation, reviewing at relevant intervals, and maintaining records
- Identifying training/certification needs for colleagues to meet standards imposed by Wincanton, legislation, and approved Codes of Practice / HSE guidance
- Ensuring compliance across petroleum contracts regionally, as required by legislation and customer procedures
- Delivering engaging DCPC and PDP training in line with Wincanton standards
- Delivering driver core inductions for new drivers and temporary workers
- Conducting driver assessments in line with policies and standards
- Analyzing data to identify drivers needing additional support
- Providing expertise and advice on H&S matters and SSoW compilation
- Delivering practical and refresher training on SSoW
- Supporting Quality Assurance with training materials development
- Planning and delivering training sessions for new or in-service equipment
- Guiding managers and supervisors on safety matters
- Monitoring driver performance via telemetry and providing expertise on telematics systems
- Managing drivers\’ training records on Vantage Driver Passport
- Attending CPD courses and keeping up to date with industry and legal trends
What will you bring?
Required:
- LGV License & experience
- Competent in administration and IT skills
- LGV C+E license and ADR classes 2 & 3
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training or above (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years\’ experience in UK downstream oil industry
- Experience in forecourt and bulk deliveries
- In-depth knowledge of ACOP L133 and DSEAR
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of trainer responsibilities related to legislation, equality, diversity, and inclusivity
- Ability to develop training materials supporting effective learning
- Understanding of UK Goods Vehicle Operator License undertakings
- Ability to articulate and challenge EC Driver and Working Time legislation
- Knowledge of safety schemes and accreditations (ADR, FORS, CLOCS, LLCS)
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance and roadworthiness standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work confidentially and with integrity
- Experience in Human Factors training
- Prioritization and delegation skills
- Desirable: International Transport Manager CPC
Qualifications:
- LGV License
- ADR – all classes except 1 & 7 in Packaged and Tankers
- Registered DCPC, PDP, and ADR Instructor with DVSA/SQA
- Level 3 First Aid at Work
- Level 3 Education and Training
- CPC Transport Manager
