Overview

Wincanton is hiring for the Heinz Wigan Warehouse Team Member role at Wincanton in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • To load vehicles as part of the despatch function working closely with the Despatch Team Leader ensuring we despatch loads on time. This will involve FLT driving and small amounts of admin/paperwork to be completed correctly.
  • To unload vehicles accurately and within specified time limits ensuring the Goods In schedule is completed working closely with the Goods in Team Leader. The focus is around Quality and ensuring the product is receipted correctly. This will involve driving FLT, ECB and manual handling. There is also a requirement for counting stock and completion of associated paperwork.
  • Experience in manual handling will be a benefit and the use of a LLOP is mandatory along with Radio Data Terminals. Will work closely with the Case Pick Team Leader.
  • To Case Pick ensuring that loads are picked to hit assembly times. Ensure all pallet movements from are delivered to the correct destination in a timely manner utilising the appropriate equipment (i.e. counterbalance forklift truck, reach truck and radio data terminals). It is essential that all customer orders are assembled accurately.
  • Complete all replenishment tasks removing stretch-wrap and ensuring all stock is rotated correctly by topping up pallets utilising the appropriate equipment (i.e.reach truck and radio data terminals).
  • Participation in various projects will be required as the company develops its Lean Six Sigma programme with a view to making improvements in all aspects of the operation.
  • Participation in company initiatives such as “IMPACT” (the company values and standards), LDF (Learning and Development Framework) which is linked into NVQ development.
  • A key part of the Team Members role is the maintenance of a safe and tidy work environment ensuring that all food safety (HACCP) standards are achieved and therefore each team member must be committed to general housekeeping duties.
  • Contractual requirement to comply with all Company Health, Safety and Quality procedures to ensure safe working practices and a safe working environment exists for all.
