Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure conduct and behaviour to be compliant with Wincanton Health & Safety legislation and guidelines.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Operate customer & Wincanton IT systems as required.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
  • A range of duties to support the operational efficiency and general housekeeping and hygiene standards of the warehouse and site.
  • Undertake all training necessary to fulfil the requirement of flexibility to enable presence within any required areas of the warehouse.
  • To undertake such additional duties as may be reasonably required for the effective role.
  • Ensure time and attendance within Company set standards.
  • Support and provide training to new and existing employees.
  • Flexibility – overtime requirements.
  • Ensure that any issues are escalated to management.
  • Carry out operational tasks as requested to achieve departmental and site objectives.
  • React to change due to operational and client requirements and carrying out duties in a professional and timely fashion.
  • Ensure the correct handling of all client products is carried out at all stages within the facility.
  • Complete all relevant documentation as required to provide a quality service to our client and, therefore, contributing to greater operational efficiency.
  • Be committed to continuous development in line with operational needs, constantly striving for increased efficiency, productivity, and growth.

Person Specification

Experience, skills and attributes:

  • Able to provide and understand the need for a high standard of customer service.
  • A proactive, flexible and \"can do\" attitude to resolve issues and challenges.
  • The individual needs to be able to demonstrate attention to detail and an accurate and precise way of working.
  • PC literate and numerate with good communication skills, including a minimum of a basic understanding of Microsoft Office as required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also independently and to show initiative.
  • Flexibility is required regarding shift patterns.
  • Possess a positive attitude with a keen and enthusiastic approach.
  • Ability to use IT Systems in accordance with training provided.
  • Attention to detail required to assume quality checking/quality control.
  • Ability to train others to a high standard.
  • Compliance with manual handling procedures.
