Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner into our London Convenience model, to be based at Thameside. Our Transport Planners are required to own and manage the daily planning for all store deliveries and backhaul collections, managing communication of the plan to all stakeholders and ensuring it is accurately reflected in the system while monitoring performance and efficiency.
This role involves working five days out of seven and includes weekend work on a rolling roster.

How will you contribute?
- Manage all volume through the Plan‑It system, ensuring they are planned into the appropriate routing software and this is communicated to the business.
- Manage resource requests to ensure all planned daily resources are accurate.
- Manage Health & Safety on site, creating a culture that is H&S conscious and reports accordingly; drive the use of STAR reporting and awareness to reduce incidents.
- Ensure reports and details are accurate for the receiving audience.
- Financially aware and ensures profitability is maximised by ensuring plans are efficient.
- Manage customer relationships, ensuring communication is good and issues are highlighted and dealt with quickly and appropriately; suggest improvements and work with the Customers team to maximise efficiency.
- Ensure all decisions are taken with full knowledge of the P&L implications to the business and that the team is aware of financial performance.

Experience
- Evidence of continuous improvement in operational performance (including Health and Safety) and driving site culture and the engagement of colleagues.
- Previous experience/knowledge of Transport Management systems desirable.
- Operationally focused and able to deliver and exceed expectations.
- Demonstrable experience in Microsoft Office applications.
