Asda Larne Driver Dayshift
Job Type: Permanent Position
Location: Wincanton Dedicated Grocery, 1 Redlands Crescent, Larne Harbour, Larne, BT40 1AX (Deliveries within Northern Ireland)
Reporting to: Transport Department Manager
Shift Pattern: Working any 5 days out of 7 each week, scheduled to approximately 9.6 hours per day (48hrs per week). Commencing anytime between 6am and 10am.
Class 1 HGV Driver Dayshift
What You Need
- Full HGV Class C&E (Class 1) Licence
- A minimum of 12 months LGV driving and delivery experience, with no more than 3 penalty points
- Possession of a Digital Tachograph card
- In possession of full DCPC (35 hours)
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills
- Flexibility
- Excellent dexterity
The Role
- Deliveries to ASDA stores depots as Ambassadors of Wincanton Dedicated Grocery.
- Organisation and accurate completion of appropriate paperwork for each delivery consignment.
- Unloading manually required.
- Prompt and regular communication with Larne depot if any problems arise during shift.
- Safe and efficient handling of vehicle in all respects, including the optimisation of fuel usage, cleanliness of cab etc.
- Pre‑shift checks of vehicle and reporting of maintenance issues.
- Compliance with all legislation and procedures relating to LGV driving.
- Conduct yourself in a safe manner and report any issues which risk H&S of self/others.
- Undertake any training required by the operation; the company provides your yearly CPC training.
- To undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function (e.g. shunting duties).
