Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Class 1 Wagon driver for a contract based in Bellshill, Glasgow. This challenging and interesting role will appeal to an individual with the drive, agility, and energy to deliver operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This role will appeal to an individual who loves working in a friendly fast-paced team. This team is part of our store and home Delivery Network, If you feel that you have what it takes to be part of this successful team, we would love to hear from you.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday days (x5) and Sunday to Thursday Afternoons (x5)
Start Times: 0400-0600 and 1500-1600
The Role
• Responsible for the accurate, timely movement and delivery of our customers’ products
• Adhering to safe working practices to always ensure the safety of yourself and others
• Securing load of the trailer to ensure products are safely secured to minimise chances of damage
• Ensure the trailer for the following days’ work is safely deposited on the correct site and all paperwork left for the crews delivering
• Understand the flexible nature of the role in regard to distance variations one day to another.
• Conduct through pre and post vehicle checks, raising any defects to the attention of Transport Office
• Participate in any training to carry out the Driver role safely and within expectations
The Person
• A valid in date Class 1 licence
• To hold a Digital tachograph card
• To have no more than 6 points on your licence
• Good customer facing awareness skills
• To be a good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
• Enthusiasm and reliability
• Good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
• Great geographical knowledge
