Wincanton for Sainsbury's at our Thameside depot in London is looking for a Warehouse Team Manager to join the team. You will lead a team of colleagues across four grocery chambers (ambient, frozen, chill, and produce) to receive, pick, and load store orders accurately, safely, and in a timely manner to meet the outbound loading schedule. The Warehouse Team Manager reports directly to the Warehouse Shift Manager and will be responsible and accountable for managing and motivating a team of up to 20-30 colleagues to deliver targets within strict timelines. This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to work closely with peers and engage at all levels with good communication skills.
The salary for this role is dependent on experience, starting from £32,400 per annum. Shift patterns are 5 days from 7, with rotating early and late shifts from 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00, on a three-week rolling rota (4 x AM shifts, rest days, 4 x PM shifts, rest days, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Motivate and manage the team to achieve, and where possible exceed, all performance objectives.
- Effectively manage resources to achieve KPIs (cost, quality, service, and absence).
- Proactively promote Health & Safety through risk assessments and ensuring team compliance with policies and requirements.
- Conduct regular individual reviews and agree on performance improvement plans where necessary.
- Manage time and attendance.
- Apply company policies and procedures related to capability, conduct, absence, equal opportunities, grievances, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
