Wincanton are recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Lorry Driver to join the team at our Reading. This position involves covering colleague's shifts when required, which may include nights out. The vehicles you could be driving will be a mix of crane vehicles, drawbar and rigid crane vehicles.
Salary: £45,386.56 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Minimum 48 hours per week
Leave: 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Nights out required.
How will you contribute?
- You will be delivering customer orders to building sites and homes in the region, so you’ll have a positive ‘can do’ attitude with excellent customer service skills and be able to stay calm and professional when challenges arise.
- You will operate a crane vehicle ensuring that you maintain the vehicles by cleaning them daily.
- You will put the customer at the heart of everything you do, ensuring you work to a high level of health and safety and are compliant with specific customer requirements.
- This position involves covering colleague's shift patterns when they are on annual leave or absent, which could involve nights out.
- You’ll be punctual to ensure on-time deliveries and we offer various day or night shifts with overtime and occasional weekend work offered.
What will you bring?
- Must have valid C+E Class 1 licence
- Must have valid CPC
- Must hold Digital tachograph card
- Must not have more than 6 points on licence
- HIAB, Palfinger roll loader/fixed mounted cranes experience and brick grab experience would be advantageous
- Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
- Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering first class customer service and a flexible can-do attitude to work
- Must have good English communication skills and writing skills
- Must have a good geographical knowledge
