The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have. You'll be pivotal to the efficient running of the business and will be focused on delivering consistent performance to agreed operational KPIs.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will have full accountability for the day-to-day management of a team of Supervisors and Warehouse Operatives and for delivering a culture that positively supports employee engagement. This is a full time, permanent role working 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00, a unique shift pattern of an 8-week rotation involving 6 weeks of 3 shifts per week and 2 weeks of 4 shifts. It does involve days, nights and weekends. The main advantage for you is that there is a lot of time off, including 1x 7 day break in each 8 week rotation.
Pay, benefits and more: We're looking to offer a salary of up to £40,000.00, and 21.5 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.
What you'll do on a typical day:
- You will have full accountability for a team of Supervisors and Warehouse Operatives, including recruitment, training, performance management, disciplinary and grievance, Health & Safety investigations, recognition & reward for their teams.
- Manage all operational Departmental activities to achieve Customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Increase and maintain productivity and profitability within area of responsibility.
- Responsible for management of all Warehousing Processes and activities.
- Build a high-performance culture by setting targets, measuring performance, providing regular feedback, recognising achievements or coaching individuals as required in order to develop an engaged workforce.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Relevant experience in a warehouse environment preferably within the logistics or manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge and understanding of shift KPIs and operational processes.
- Ability to delegate tasks to ensure high performance and optional targets are met.
- Employee engagement knowledge and/or experience in a diverse working environment.
- Excellent level of verbal and written communication skills in English & IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft programmes.
- Flexibility across 24/7 operations based on business requirements.
