At Winbro, we are global leaders in high precision electro discharge machining (EDM), laser micromachining, and custom solutions. JOIN US and we can offer you an opportunity to work in a high-tech, specialist company working with some of the best global names in aerospace, medical and clean energy.
The EDM tooling we design can hold up to 49 electrodes as small as diameter 0.25mm by 700mm long, eject & replenish electrodes automatically, rotate at 1000 rpm, uses deionised water at 95 bar pressure, & supplies 300 volts / 30 amps of electrical current to the electrode. All of this in something as small as a thermos flask.
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our elite engineering team. You will be our lead tooling and fixturing design engineer, responsible for the design of new products and turnkey solutions to support both existing and new applications. This role will also involve machine/tooling quotation work ensuring consistency with customer requirements. Coming up with new design ideas to save time, money or create something that just doesnβt exist yet. When required, you will also provide technical support for any investigations into tooling related problems in our customer base. You will supply technical details and content to ensure tooling documentation is maintained, and also update control registers as needed.
Qualifications
- To apply, you need to be commutable to Shepshed as this is a site-based role at our UK facility.
- We are looking for someone with experience in the tooling industry, strong NX design skills and bags of enthusiasm for solving engineering problems.
- You will need a Mechanical Engineering Degree or similar.
Flexible start and finish times, 25 days holiday per year, including shut down over Christmas, Company pension scheme with the option to contribute via salary sacrifice, Company paid life insurance at 3 x salary with the option to upgrade value and to include spousal cover.
