JOIN US as a Buyer at our Rock Hill facility and we can offer you an opportunity to work in a high-tech, specialist company working with some of the best global names in aerospace, medical, semiconductor and clean energy.
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing high-quality goods at competitive prices, managing supplier relationships and optimizing inventory levels to support company growth and profitability.
Role and Responsibilities:- Responsible for processing production materials through all steps of the supply chain, both internally in our machining facility and externally at sub-contract suppliers.
- Co-ordinate supplier schedules and ensure completion on time, to plan.
- Provide updates to the programme lead on potential issues with production orders.
- Support daily reviews.
- Liaise with Engineering, Production and Quality departments regarding progress and issues.
- Develop and maintain high quality trading relationships with suppliers.
- Project-based materials ownership.
- Provide accurate costing information and specifications from suppliers.
- Negotiation of prices, terms and conditions to obtain the best quality supply and commercial agreement with suppliers.
- Raise, monitor, progress and chase purchase orders.
- Deliver quantifiable cost saving results without compromising quality.
- Working with BOMs and updating internal work orders.
- Moving and issuing materials to and within work orders.
- Previous working knowledge of buying, ideally within an aerospace and/or Engineering Manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of purchasing techniques demonstrated through negotiation and managing the supply base.
- Experience of sourcing complex machined components.
- Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office applications; strong Excel skills are essential.
- Ideally experienced in using ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics 365, preferred.
- US Citizen or existing Green Card Holder due to our customer facilities access requirements.
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in finance or supply chain is preferred.
