JOIN US as a Manufacturing Engineer based at our Shepshed manufacturing facility, and we can offer you an opportunity to work in a high-tech, specialist company working with some of the best global names in aerospace, medical, semiconductor and clean energy.

This position requires an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to provide engineering support through owning parts and processes in our component and tooling manufacturing facility specialising in “hot gas path” turbine products – turbine blades, vanes and structures and Winbro tooling parts and sub-assemblies.

Principal duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support and programming capability for manufacturing processes. These processes may involve EDM hole drilling, milling, laser and other auxiliary operations.
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering activities.
  • Provide day to day support for existing product lines and processes.
  • Employ continuous improvement methodologies to reduce defects and improve RFT.
  • Support the design, delivery and prove out of tooling & fixturing solutions.
  • Technical drawing review, process analysis and quotations.
  • Provide technical liaison between engineering and production.
  • Create and implement manufacturing documentation/work instructions (ISO9001 / AS9100D / NADCAP).
  • Reduce non-conformance through structured & targeted process improvement.
  • Own and improve process capability (Cp & Cpk) using data analysis tools e.g. SPC / Minitab.
  • Solve problems in a structured manner e.g. 3C / 8D / DMAIC.
Requirements:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer who loves to solve engineering problems. You will have the ability to read and understand complex drawings connected with aerospace component manufacture. You will have experience with conventional CNC controllers and programming and also conventional machining tooling and fixtures. An ability to understand and articulate 3D geometry to support fixture design and manufacture and knowledge of CAD/CAM packages, ideally NX and/or Inventor, are pre-requisites.
