At Winbro, we are global leaders in high precision electro discharge machining (EDM), laser micromachining, and custom solutions. We offer an opportunity to work in a high-tech, specialist company working with some of the best global names in aerospace, medical and clean energy.
The EDM tooling we design can hold up to 49 electrodes as small as diameter 0.25mm by 700mm long, eject & replenish the electrodes automatically, rotates at 1000 rpm, uses deionised water at 95 bar pressure, & supplies 300 volts / 30 amps of electrical current to the electrode.
Working as part of an elite engineering team, you will be supporting the design team with existing and new non-conventional machines that are used for global applications. You will also provide technical support to any investigations into machine related problems.
You will be responsible for providing technical details and content to ensure documentation is maintained and up to date and for maintaining and updating control registers, as needed. You will have a good background in manufacturing processes to ensure products are designed for easy and cost-effective manufacture whilst maintaining world class quality standards.
Responsibilities:- Create drawings and models whilst understanding geometric symbols and tolerances.
- Support the design of machines including production of detailed drawings, BOMs and assembly drawings under supervision.
- Contribute to technical documentation for machine manuals to ensure assembly and maintenance instructions are clear.
- Assist with engineering task requests and providing initial solutions for review.
- Support liaison with suppliers to help ensure components meet design requirements and cost considerations.
- Occasional customer communication, under guidance from senior engineers.
- Work alongside Manufacturing Engineers to support Design for Manufacture principles.
- Investigate and support the resolution of engineering problems reported by internal or external customers.
We are looking for an early-career mechanical engineer with up to 2 years' experience. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a must, as is basic AutoCAD Inventor experience. The successful applicant will be a problem solver and a team-player who can demonstrate previous exposure to machinery and tooling design. Microsoft Office 365 experience is required; Dynamics would be a plus.
