The cocoa industry is dramatically affected by climate change – causing instability and spiralling prices. It also faces significant challenges with deforestation, and child/slave labour. We provide a solution to this.

Our innovative approach merges low-carbon, abundant ingredients with our proprietary fermentation tech and uses conventional chocolate manufacturing equipment. The end result is a cocoa-free chocolate alternative that tastes, melts, grates and snaps the same as conventional chocolate but avoids the associated ethical, social and environmental problems.

Win-Win’s first products are a range of award-winning alt-chocs: vegan m.lk, milk, and dark choc easy melt buttons for B2B industry partners.

Position Overview:

As the NPD Manager within our R&D team, you’ll lead the development of next generation products for our alt-chocolate range by transforming concepts into market-ready formulations. This practical and collaborative role combines expertise in ingredients, food science and flavour chemistry with a technical understanding of scaled-up manufacturing requirements. You’ll guide recipe formulation, rapid prototyping & testing, to ensure that each product meets our standards for taste, texture and functionality, while being commercially oriented and production ready. Collaborating closely with Operations and Sales teams, you’ll help to keep projects aligned with our business goals and sustainability mission.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of alt-chocolate and confectionery products from concept through to commercialisation
  • Provide guidance and expertise in recipe formulation and rapid prototyping, ensuring products meet sensory, quality and functional standards for B2B applications
  • Collaborate with B2B customers and manufacturing partners to understand our products in application, and assist where needed in end-product development
  • Source and evaluate sustainable ingredients to enhance product functionality and appeal
  • Set timelines, manage milestones and collaborate with the Operations team to transition from lab concept to production
  • Ensure food safety and quality compliance for all new products
  • Support, mentor and guide the NPD team and ensure effective communication and collaboration with the R&D, Operations and Sales teams

Qualifications:

  • BSc/MSc in Food Science, Food Chemistry, or related field
  • Substantial experience (typically 8+ years) in product development, ideally within chocolate, confectionery, plant-based or sensory-focused categories
  • Demonstrable understanding of ingredient functionality and organoleptics, including emulsification, texture modification and sensory science
  • Experience of successfully scaling products from concept to market
  • Skilled in leadership, project management and B2B customisation
  • Passionate about sustainability, diversity and food innovation
