The Casualty team provides a full and expert defendant litigation service, acting across both the public and private sectors on a wide range of public liability (PL) and employers’ liability (EL) claims. Our client is recognised as a market leader in this space, offering high-quality representation across core and specialist Casualty areas, including support from our dedicated Casualty Fraud team.

They operate on a national basis, with specialist commercial insurance and public sector teams, enabling them to deliver a consistent, well-resourced service to our clients.

We have been instructed to recruit a Solicitor or CILEX-qualified Lawyer (2–4 years’ PQE) to join their Sports team in Leeds. Working within this dedicated team, you will be responsible, under appropriate supervision, for the day-to-day management of a varied caseload, handling claims efficiently and delivering pragmatic, commercial outcomes for clients.

You will also assist Partners and Principal Associates in the defence of a wide range of claims, often high value and high profile, on behalf of sports’ governing bodies, competitors, sports clubs, and their insurers.

  • Assisting with significant disclosure and document reviews including e-Discovery
  • Undertaking legal and factual research
  • Attending client meetings and responding promptly and accurately to correspondence and telephone enquiries from clients and other parties.

A proven track record of managing EL/PL personal injury claims, with a demonstrable understanding of the law relating to negligence and health and safety.

  • An interest in sport and sports related claims
  • Experience in undertaking disclosure exercises and document reviews
